Loved watching them unload the sprats.

fishing boats Essex Girl and Fisher Girl in the North sea Canning Company dock on the Quay.  They canned sprats in the winter and chickens in the summer the owner was Lewis Worsp.

The Flag Inn Wivenhoe ,the main building dates from 1795 The man in the cart could be local carrier Whip Wyatt.

They look like carefree days

The Ferry Hard at Wivenhoe 1920's alas the ferry shelter disappeared in the 1960's also the row of houses behind which went out into the river have also been demolished.

It looked nice until it was covered by plaster.

The new Methodist church in the Avenue opened on the 24th October 1901, they had one before which was the old Wesleyan church in Chapel Road ,now a potery workshop.
