You were climbing the social ladder when you moved here.

This is a view of Belle Vue Road.  The Nook is just out of view on the right, a lot of people living in this road were sea captains, having a view over the river colne.

My great great grandfather Captain Joseph Hadley master mariner,birth date 1827,died age 50 , their ship called Jane sunk off Yarmouth in April 1877, I believe his son also master mariner ,Captain Joseph Hadley , he lived in Bellevue road , he lost a son Joseph Hadley (apprentice )whose ship ,Loch Vennachar a schooner ,sunk of Kangaroo, island, Australia in 1905,
