Coasters on the river Colne at Wivenhoe ,the vessell behind the coaster is the trial barge for testing outboard engines, the company who owned the barge were Whitehead Engineering of Harlow , Essex.
There Wivenhoe factory was located on the old Wivenhoe Shipyard premisses which was also the site of Wivenhoe Port. The skipper of the barge was Peter Hammond and the engineer was Cyril Man of Brightlingsea.
