Wivenhoe must have been very interesting in W.W.2

ML276 one of three boats in dock for repair at Vospers yard in W.W.2 these were high speed patrol boats.

Just seen the photo of ML276.  Fairmile B class motor launch.

As a matter of interest my father Norman worked as a designer for Fairmile Marine at their office at Cobham in Surrey for a large part of WWII and was involved with this and other classes of Fairmile vessels.
thanks to Graham Wadley for additional information.

first-class photo of ML 276 with RML 547 in background.
B Type MLs were rather slow convoy esort craft (also sometimes used as command vessels and rescue launches), not past patrol boats.
Interesting about your father. Do you have any further info or photos of his association with Fairmiles?
I've authored books on the subject and still avidly collect this sort of material.
My parents helped build MLs at Brightlingsea.
