They didn't have a fish and chip shop then.

East Street Wivenhoe, showing the old 17century cottages which have since been demolished. This view is looking towards Anchor Hill. The White plastered Cottage is now the Fish and Chip Shop.

These old cottages were still standing in 1915, but were demolished sometime between then and 1922.

When do you think this picture was taken? I live in the red brick house right next door to the chip shop (right of it as you look at it now) and can't figure out its age.
